The Café Femenino Coffee Project is a social program run by and for women coffee producers in rural communities around the world. More than 1,500 women in six countries are active in the project that helps women achieve empowerment, build social and support networks, and earn incomes through the production and sale of the Café Femenino Coffee.
The success of the Project led to the creation of The Café Femenino Foundation, which provides grants to selected programs and projects that enhance the lives of women and their families in coffee growing communities around the world. cafefemenino.com
This coffee comes from the Huehuetenango region of Guatemala, located about 200 miles north of the nation’s capital of Guatemala City. The women in the ASOBAGRI cooperative have worked together to learn how to grow and cultivate coffee in a healthy manner.
The Asobagri Huehuetenango is a blend of the bourbon and caturra coffee plants. This coffee is roasted to showcase their bright, fruity acidity and sweetness.
Barnie’s donates $2 to the Café Femenino Foundation with every purchase of this special coffee. Thank you for helping to improve the lives of women coffee growers.
